Some of us crash frequently, and afterwards we most often remember the cause and the outcome of the crash. But as crashes happen in very short moments, trying to recall what actually happened between start and end of a crash is a bit harder.

From some video sequences I've tried to break up a couple of crashes, and I've also tried to put a few words on what seems to happen (of course, lots of other interpretations are possible).

The pictures are screen dumps from videos, and that's definitely reflected in the horrible quality of the pictures (some are extremely blurred!). If you like to see the crashes in motion pictures, you'll find the relevant video here (choose sequence 3).

sudden (relative) breaking resistance of the board.
